"I wake up every morning and have a purpose." And that purpose, says Ed Hoppe, is to help others. "If you do the right things for others, life has a way of taking care of itself."

Ed serves as Verus’ senior vice president and is known by his peers for his keen eye for detail, “an absolutely critical component of our work as financial planners.” Ed is a primary adviser who helps clients field questions related to financial planning, tax, and investment decisions. He draws from a broad experience from one of the “Big 4” accounting firms and a large national bank’s wealth management division.

Ed holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce with a concentration in accounting, along with a master’s degree in accounting with a concentration in taxation, both from the University of Virginia. He is involved at Cool Spring Baptist Church and Compass Sports in Hanover, Virginia. He and his wife, Lucky, have four children and a life filled with high school sports activities, traveling to visit children, and an ever-growing number of family vacations to Walt Disney World.
