Nearing the end of a seasonal job at Verus to lend a hand during the busy spring tax time, Theresa put a bug in our ear, noting she would be looking for part-time work come fall. It didn’t take long for us to call back and offer her a more permanent role.
At Verus, Theresa assists individuals and couples who are nearing or entering retirement age – the moment when it’s time to start putting long-term plans into action and begin drawing from investment portfolios. During her prior career in banking, she enjoyed the customer-facing aspects of the business, and is happy to be back in front of clients at Verus. “Verus has been a great fit for me – it’s such a warm and friendly place, and everyone works together so well,” Theresa says. “We all have questions here from time to time, and I really appreciate the willingness of others to help out. It’s just a wonderful environment.” She enjoys the work-life balance offered by the firm, with a position that gives her the flexibility to greet her two boys when they get home from school.
Theresa and her husband Darrell were high school and college sweethearts (she graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in business administration). On the weekends, you’ll find the Hanover County family in the outdoors – perhaps watching their two sons play sports, fishing, or gardening. They are also actively involved in worship and numerous activities at Cool Spring Baptist Church.
